Book an Autism Diagnostic Evaluation

Evaluations are ONLY available for individuals physically located in the following states at the time of the evaluation appointment: Alabama, Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.

We understand that autism evaluations can be expensive, often ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, and typically come with long waiting lists. However, we are pleased to offer more affordable autism diagnostic evaluations for only $400 in total. Additionally, we provide the convenience of allowing you to complete assessment information ahead of the telehealth appointment, which takes approximately 20 minutes. This approach ensures that the appointment time is not consumed by lengthy questionnaires, enabling us to discuss assessment results and next steps promptly. By implementing this streamlined process, we can accommodate more patients and ensure they receive the care they deserve. Our evaluations are available for both children (18 months and older) and adults, and can be conducted virtually across Alabama, Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. If your state is not listed, but you’re still interested in an evaluation, please complete the form below the booking widget and include the state you’d like to be added. We’ll do our best to obtain the appropriate licensure in your state.

What to expect:

  • Appointments are typically available within 2 weeks. Many individuals are on waiting lists at other practices for 9+ months and up to 2-3 years.

  • Assessments are sent to you when you book so you can complete them before the telehealth appointment.

  • Telehealth appointments are scheduled for 20 minutes, however, intake forms and assessments must be completed prior to the appointment.

  • Evaluations are $400 total with $200 due at time of scheduling and the remaining due at time of service.

  • The evaluation consists of caregiver/self report measures, clinical interviews, and clinical observation assessment tools. Evaluations are tailored to each individual client since not all assessments are appropriate for everyone.

  • You will know our diagnostic impressions at the scheduled appointment time and can discuss next steps.

  • A superbill (invoice) can be provided if requested to seek reimbursement from insurance for covered services.

  • A complete diagnostic report will be available within approximately 2-weeks of the evaluation. Report delays may occur during high volume periods.

  • The report can be shared with the clients’ pediatrician, primary care physician, or psychiatrist if requested.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do you accept insurance?

Though we are not in network with any insurances, we can provide a detailed invoice (called a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company if they cover the service and you have out-of-network benefits. We can submit a detailed superbill (invoice) to be submitted for reimbursement. Reimbursement will be sent directly to you. Our rates are lower than many people pay with insurance, since many private insurance companies have high deductibles. Don’t forget that many providers that accept insurance have very long waitlists.

Does this count as an official autism diagnosis?

Yes! Our providers are fully licensed in the states that our services are available. All of our providers have additional post-graduate training in assessing, diagnosing and treating autistic individuals. Our providers also have extensive experience working with children and adults on the autism spectrum (e.g. autism facility, private practice, home health, telehealth, etc.). Please note that each individual employer, institution, and program will have their own requirements and processes for requesting accommodations and related services. We are happy to work with you to ensure you receive the accommodations and supports you deserve. Sometimes, programs and institutions will require a diagnosis to be signed off on by a primary care physician or psychiatrist, which can be provided the appropriate provider if needed. Additional forms that may need signature or additional information from your evaluator can be completed if applicable, however, turnaround time can vary depending on pending requests. Please let your evaluator know if you have any time sensitive requests, and we will do our best to accommodate.

How long does an appointment last?

Evaluations are booked for 20 minutes, however, intake documentation including assessment measures are completed prior to the appointment, so the clinician is able to analyze and review the assessment results to have a diagnostic impression at the time of the appointment, ask any clarifying questions, and discuss next steps. Any remaining time left in your appointment is yours and can be used for education, counseling and discussing the results further. Please let your provider know if you’d like to schedule a follow-up phone consultation. Additional questions and requests can be made by emailing info@bluetidetherapy.com (please include your name and evaluation date).
